Restaurant Occupations, aka, The Back Porch Café , is designed to develop career awareness, practical skills and experience in the food services area, with appropriate work behaviors and attitudes.
Students will be prepared for entry-level employment in restaurants and other food services settings.
Concentration will be in the following areas:
Proper use & identification of various kitchen utensils & equipment
Kitchen sanitation and safety
Food preparation
Researching and preparing recipes,
Cooking methods
Table setting
Taking orders,
Serving customers and bussing.
Dishwashing
The Back Porch Café creates a realistic work setting and serves to create practical experiences in our school-based operational restaurant.
The Back Porch Café is opened to the staff and the Public
every Monday to Friday-following the school year calendar.
