CERTIFIED PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT

Full-time, 10-months, benefits, valid NJ State Physical Therapy Assistant License required, effective September 1, 2019

Qualifications:

1. Shall possess an Associates in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree from an approved college and an approved physical therapy assistant program

2. Shall possess a New Jersey State License as a Physical Therapy Assistant

3. Required criminal history back ground check and proof of United States citizenship or legal resident alien status

Job Goal:

Under the direction of the physical therapist: to assist in the provision of effective school based physical therapy intervention, evaluation and consultation services to enable students to benefit from instruction and realize their highest potential as a contributing member of society.

READING SPECIALIST

Part-time, 10 months, no benefits, NJ DOE Reading Specialist Certificate, experience with special needs students preferred, effective 9/1/19

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.  Possess knowledge of language development, the reading process, and the components of reading performance to assess and instruct.

2.  Experience working with Fountas and Pinnell and Orton Gillingham programs preferred.

JOB GOALS:

1.  Plan and implement sequential learning experiences for students using a variety of instructional strategies, consistent with the district and school’s philosophy, mission statement, instructional goals, school level objectives, and the NJ Student Learning Standards.

2.  Engage learners in differentiated learning experiences for a range of skill levels and developmental needs found in the classroom.

3.  Identify and select appropriate texts and materials to match students’ strengths and needs and promote knowledge, independence, and motivation.

Salary based upon the Cape May County Special Services School District Staff Association Contract.

ONE TO ONE AIDES

Part-time, 10 months, $13.00 per hour, Monday through Friday, up to 26 hours weekly, high school graduate, candidate to provide supervision and academic and behavioral support for special needs students

SUBSTITUTE SCHOOL NURSE

$135 per diem, must have a valid NJ Registered Nurse License (RN) and Substitute School Nurse Certificate or a valid NJ DOE School Nurse Certificate

SUBSTITUTE CUSTODIANS

Low Pressure Black Seal Boiler License helpful but not necessary; $17.75 per hour; physical demands include use of ladders and extensive walking; aptitude/competence for assigned custodial responsibilities; may be exposed to and required to work during extreme weather; hours may vary to fit the needs of the district. Applicants must hold a valid NJ drivers license; required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status; must be in good physical health with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

The Cape May County Special Services School District is looking for talented individuals to add to our contracted professional services team. We specialize in helping community public and private schools including students with disabilities into their classes and programs by providing on-site related services on an as needed basis. Assignments may be short-term or long-term.
