A Message from the Superintendent
Welcome to the Cape May County Schools for Special Services! I am so proud to be the Superintendent of a school district which is dedicated to helping students with a variety of needs to become successful. I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, the success of each child is central to every decision that is made by our board, administration and staff.
Within our district we have three schools: Ocean Academy, Cape May County High School, and Cape Educational COMPACT. Since 1974, our schools have provided programs offering high quality services based on research-based, best practice approaches, to children whose special educational needs stem from a variety of disabilities. Ocean Academy serves students from ages 3-14 and Cape May County High School serves our high school youth. Unlike many special needs students who attend regular education schools, our students learn in an enriching social atmosphere. They are not on the periphery of social events, they are the stars! Cape Educational COMPACT, a regular education alternative high school, is for students who are at risk of dropping out of school and who need a different type of educational environment to be successful. All of our schools provide small class sizes, warm and supportive staff, and the opportunity for our students to blossom! Our schools have the added advantage of very unique programs including social skills, functional life skills, pre-vocational, vocational, transitional, and Outdoor Experiential Education
I encourage you to explore our website. If you are a parent of one of our students, there is a myriad of information about our schools, Board of Education, policies, and community resources.
If you are a parent looking for a new school, please go to the link for each of our schools to find out more about how we might be able to help your child to become a successful and confident student.
