PRINCIPAL

Full-time, 12 months, benefits, anticipated start date July 1, 2022

  • New Jersey Standard Principal certification required

  • 3-5 years previous Special Education Teacher experience preferred

  • Must be well versed with NJSLS, State Assessments and data analysis

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Provides leadership and direction to staff with regard to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of special education and prevocational programs as well as direct oversight of behavior intervention programs and district wide PBIS initiatives.

EDUCATIONAL SIGN-LANGUAGE INTERPRETER

Full-time, 10 months, benefits, NJ DOE Educational Interpreter - Sign Language Interpreting (3463) Certificate required, effective immediately

Qualifications:

  • Valid NJ DOE Educational Interpreter - Sign Language Interpreting (3463) Certificate, or eligibility
  • Associate’s degree preferred.  Minimum high school diploma with required 15 semester hour credits of professional education coursework
  • Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) with a minimum score of 3
  • Two years’ experience in interpreting preferred

SUBSTITUTE LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN)

Cape May County Special Services School District (CMCSSSD) is seeking an experienced LPN to fill job opening.   The ideal candidate will possess a current LPN license with excellent clinical skills.  This person will work under the supervision of our school nurses at CMCSSSD.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with implementation of the nursing care plan
  • Carries out policies of the CMCSSSD as appropriate.
  • Completes, maintains and submits accurate clinical records and prepares reports, as needed
  • Utilizes community relationships to contribute to a better public understanding of Agency services.
  • Provides emergency treatments as directed and indicated.
  • Performs selected nursing procedures in keeping with licensures, such as administration of medications and treatments.
  • Observes, records and reports to the appropriate person, patient’s symptoms, reactions, and changes in the condition as indicated.

SKILLS:

  • Minimum of one year Licensed Practical Nursing experience in community nursing or medical-surgical/hospital setting required.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in written format at all levels.
  • Ability to interact with and relate to the problems and difficulties associated with the aging process.
  • Able to provide direct care tasks according to the established patient plan of care and under the supervision of an RN.

SUBSTITUTE SCHOOL NURSE

$250 per diem, must have a valid NJ Registered Nurse License (RN) and Substitute School Nurse Certificate or a valid NJ DOE School Nurse Certificate

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid NJ Registered Nurse License (RN) and NJ DOE Substitute School Nurse Certificate or NJ DOE School Nurse Certificate
  • Demonstrated expertise in school health nursing practice and emergency procedures
  • Knowledge of child growth and development, community and family dynamics, current health issues, and wellness education
  • Knowledge of community health and social services resources and ability to communicate effectively with non-school health professionals and social service agencies
  • Should have experience in pediatrics and /or with physically handicapped and emotionally disturbed children
  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

Low Pressure Black Seal Boiler License helpful but not necessary; $17.75 per hour; physical demands include use of ladders and extensive walking; aptitude/competence for assigned custodial responsibilities; may be exposed to and required to work during extreme weather; hours may vary to fit the needs of the district.
